LAVA HOT SPRINGS
We went to Lava Hot Springs for the Vasas Annual Reunion. It was a lot of fun. The kids love to see all of their cousins. Dave and I took our tent this year because we didn't have a truck to pull the trailer. I must say that I think the plan, after we got home, was to BURN the tent!!!!! I don't think I have ever had a more miserable night in my life. Macie was up screaming and crying all night and she was afraid of the wind storm that we had and well it was just terrible. But aside from the actual sleeping part of the trip everything else was really fun. We went to the pool all day on Friday and swam. The kids are little fish. They love to be in the water. That night we had dinner and sat around a fire and the kids got light sticks from Aunt Sherri. Saturday morning we got up and had breakfast and then it was goodbye to Daddy for a whole week.
The kids hated to take time out of the day to eat lunch. I think the only way we actually got them to eat anything was by telling them that there would be no swimming without lunch.
The 3 Amigos!
Swim time for Macie Moo. I think she would live in the water if we let her.
Carter and Dad on the way up to the slide. Carter loved the slides. He is still talking about it and wondering when we get to go back.
Good Job Carter Man!
He is getting so big and independent
Macie finally crashed under a tree. She couldn't swim any longer.
Macie likes camping. She was having fun sitting by the fire.
Carter found a football to play with. He was having a blast with the cousins.
Macie's favorite part of a s'more. THE CHOCOLATE!!!
Light Sticks! Such a great thing.
Yeah she looks all sweet and cuddly and ready for bed. If only pictures could talk. Hee Hee. I guess she is still sweet!
The kids had a lot of fun this year at the reunion. Thanks Grandma Jan and Papa!
Park City
That Saturday morning after nobody got any sleep it was off to Park City, UT for a week. I was really wishing that Dave would have been able to come with us but with so many different jobs it is hard to have time. Anyways he drove us to the freeway to meet my parents and after the kids and I kissed him goodbye we were off. We couldn't check in until 4pm so we stopped at Flags West and had breakfast again and then we went into Salt Lake City to the Gateway Mall. What a fun place. The kids were so excited because I had told them that they were going to be able to build a bear (or stuffed animal of their choice). So here are some pictures from the week of fun.
BUILD-A-BEAR
You can't tell that he was excited, can you?
The whole gang!
Macie was a little unsure at first of the whole experience but she soon warmed up to it all and loved it.
I had to help her just a little at the end.
Carter was like a pro. He knew exactly what he was doing and he loved it.
After they stuff their animals they get to put a heart in them. But before they do that they have to rub it on a whole bunch of places. Their head was the first place. I can't remember all the reasons but they had fun doing it.
Their Heart.
Then they had to kiss it before they could put it in their animal.
Macie was getting anxious to get her bunny from this girl. She could hardly contain herself.
Cute Bunny Macie!!!
After they are stuffed you have to give them a bath. I think this was one of Carter's favorite parts.
Good Job Macie!
After they got done giving them baths then it was time to dress them. That was my favorite part. Carter found a fishing outfit for his puppy. It came with a vest, pants, fishing pole, and fish. And then he found some cute boots for him. Macie and I went to the girly section and man does she have her mother's decision making. We must have looked at a million different outfits and none of them seemed to be correct. We finally found a cute pair of Levi shorts and a flower top and then some flowers for her hair and some sandals with diamonds on them. Then they got to name them. Carter named his Buddy. Macie named hers Candy. Well after that we ate at the food court in the mall and then headed to Park City to check in to the hotel.
Macie was so excited about her suitcase. We happened upon this one day at a garage sale about a week before leaving for Park City. She hasn't stopped dragging it around since we bought it.
This was the first morning after we arrived. They were trying to eat so fast so they could go swimming. They all had so much fun together.
This was the first night that we were there. All the kids were tuckered out because they were all so excited to be there and they just ran all day long. This was Macie's Build-A-Bear. She got a bunny and named it Candy.
This was Carter's Build-A-Bear. It was a puppy and he named him Buddy.
On Monday we went to Cabela's. The kids have a lot of fun there. They like to see all the animals and the fish. We usually spend a good part of the day there. We eat lunch there and wonder around all day. My dad was so excited to go this year because he has been saving up all his birthday money and Christmas money so spend on some fun things. It was like seeing a little kid in a candy store.
Carter and Macie picked this Polar Bear to have our picture in front of. They thought it was really cool!
After Cabela's we went to the Mayan Restaurant in Salt Lake. This is a yearly tradition. Mom and Dad treated all of us and the kids had a blast. It is a lot of fun to watch the divers jump into the water off the cliffs.
This was outside the Mayan Restaurant.
Chess and Checkers!!!
Grandpa Pat and Carter searching for fish. I don't think they found any!!!
Carter being handsome.
We spent a day in Salt Lake City going to Temple Square and the Visitors Center. I had a blast taking the kids through the Visitors Center. Carter asked me to read all of the stories and talk about all the people. We also had to stay and look at the statue of Jesus for a long time. Macie couldn't quit going up to him and just saying "Look mommy its Jesus!"
This was a fun picture to take. My dad however was laying on the sidewalk to take the picture. Thanks Dad.
I thought this one turned out great. What beautiful flowers everywhere.
The next day we went to the jumpy things at the hotel. Carter and Macie where the only ones that were able to go this year because Kailey broke her arm.
She got laughing so hard that she couldn't get up. Funny Girl!
All the kids were able to make some tye-dye tee-shirts at the hotel. What a fun thing. Macie and Carter sure loved it.
Carter was so focused and making sure that he was doing everything so perfect it was great. Macie didn't care as long as she got to squeeze lots of colors.
ZOO
We went to the Hogle Zoo while we were in Utah this year. We usually go to Lagoon but Kailey's arm was broken and money was a little tighter this year for everyone. The kids had a lot of fun at the zoo. They love to see all of the animals and they each got to pick a large stuffed animal at the end of the zoo. Macie picked an elephant and Carter picked a Giraffe.
Cute Girl. She loved seeing the elephant.
Carter's favorite was the Giraffe.
Macie was on the phone with her daddy in this picture. We sure did miss him this year.
Cute Kids!!!
She had to have a picture all by herself with the Gorilla.
Carter and Kailey really like the real Gorilla. They watched him for a long time.
All the kids were laughing at this gorilla because he was sleeping under a bag.
Grandma T and Grandpa Pat bought tickets for all the kids to ride on the train. They were excited to go on a train ride and see animals at the same time.
SWIMMING
We swam everyday while we were there. It was so fun. The kids are getting really good at swimming. And Macie sure loved jumping off the side. My dad was usually having to catch her, but in this picture she got brave enough to jump off all by herself.
What a fun week. The kids look forward to going each year. I am glad they had so much fun. Thanks Grandma T and Grandpa Pat!
