What a fun WEEK!!!

Well our week in Park City finally came and we were so excited to be able to go. I was really excited that Dave was able to take the entire week off to spend with me and the kids. He had a lot of fun being with them all day everyday. We went down Friday evening and made it there just in time to go swimming and then Saturday we were able to get up early and go to Cabela's. It was fun this has become one of our yearly events. We ate lunch there and then we went back to the hotel and that night we went to the Mayan Resaurant. It was a fun experience. They had divers diving off cliffs into water. The next day we went to the Olympic Park and watched the ski jumpers jump off the trails and then we got to watch them jump off ramps do tricks and land in the water. Monday we spent the entire day at the hotel swimming and having a BBQ. Tuesday we went to Lagoon and spent the entire day there. It was really a lot of fun. We spent most of the day in Kiddie Land but that is what made the kids very happy. Carter and Macie rode these little cars around this little track it was so cute. Dave, Tiffany, Collin, and myself went on the new ride called Wicked. And let me tell you I did not go on without a fight. I was terrified and afterwards I wasn't much better. We were very proud of Collin. He was such a trooper. This was the first year that he was tall enough to go on the big people rides. On our way out of Lagoon my mom took all the grand kids into the Central Park store and each of them were able to pick any stuffed animal that they wanted. Carter got a Kangaroo and Macie got a Moose. It was funny that Macie picked the Moose since we call her Macie Moosters. Wednesday we had to have a relaxing day because everyone especially the kids were exhausted from going to Lagoon. So we slept in and then we went to down town Park City and went to a couple of the shops and then had lunch down there. Then that evening we went swimming again. Thursday morning my parents bought an hours worth of play time for each of the kids to play on the big jumpy things. They had a slide and an obstacle course and a jumping house. Then we went to the Tanger Outlet Mall and we found some great deals on some clothes for the kids. I was also able to get myself a new pair of shoes. That night we went to Ruby Tuesday for dinner. After that we went back to the hotel and swam once again. There was really a lot of swimming going on but I loved it and so did everyone else. Carter was a little nervous about swimming at first but by about Wednesday night he was a pro. He was swimming all by himself (with a life jacket) and he would jump off the side all by himself. He also would go under water all by himself and love it. Friday morning we got up and had to be out of the hotel room by 10:00am so we got packed and headed out. We went to Salt Lake City and went to the Gateway Mall. We had lunch there at the food court and then we went to Build A Bear. Carter got a new back pack for his Kangaroo that he has named Pasha.
A day with the wild life.

What a Weekend!!!

Well, we have had better weekends than this one. But finally everything has worked out. Saturday Dave and I were headed out to my parents house to take care of things for them while they were away camping. And on the way there our car, our ONLY car, overheated and we had to have it towed to the mechanics. Monday morning the mechanic called and told us that the engine would have to be replaced. This was news that we could have done without. So next we had to ask ourselves what we were going to have to do to have a car. We decided that paying twice as much for an engine than the car is actually worth was not the smarter choice. So then we were on the hunt for a new car! Well, Monday afternoon we found two cars that we liked and yesterday we purchased our new car. I sure love the new car but I wish we could have gotten it under different circumstances. Anyways, I am just glad that it is all over with and we will have a good car to drive and to take us to Park City for this next week. We are so excited to go. And now with this new car we will be able to go and not spend as much on gas. Here is a picture of the new car. It is a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. I love it. We decided to get a car this time because it get so much better gas mileage than the Expedition.

4th of July!!!

What a fun 4th of July this year was. Carter and I got up early and went to the river and saved us a spot for the fireworks and then we came home and got ready for the Parade. I love were we live because we only have to walk a block to watch the parade. The kids thought the parade was fun and they both got some cotton candy. Macie thought that cotton candy was the greatest thing in the world. This year was great because Dave had some High School GUY come up to him and dance for him. It was hularious. He was lip singing a song that just kept saying "all I want is you" It couldn't have happened to a better guy. It made him and the rest of my family laugh really hard. After the parade we got some lunch and went to the river were we had saved a spot and we ate lunch and then just hung out and talked. Down at the river they had a carnival/fair that we walked through for a little while and then we just relaxed until the fireworks started. When it got dark we got out the glow sticks and needless to say it kept Carter and Macie busy the rest of the night. In fact Carter hardly watched the fireworks because he was so busy with the glow sticks. The fireworks were great this year as always. There is a short video of some fireworks at the bottom. Enjoy!!!

Balloon Races!!!

Friday July 3rd we got up really early and went to the Teton Balloon Races. It was fun to be able to take my kids to something that I used to do every year as a kid. Dave wasn't able to go because he had to work but I rode with my mom and dad and then my sister and her husband followed us. We saw a bunch of balloons blow up and take off. Carter loved it. Macie was a little nervous about the loud sound that the fire made. Afterwards we had breakfast and then went to the Teton Craft Fair. We ended the day eating at Black Angus and having Square Ice Cream from the famous Square Ice Cream gas station in Palisades. What a fun day. Everyone was really tired by the time we got home.

Cookies

Passing on duties for making Ginger Snaps. When I was a little girl I would help my mom make these very same cookies and it was my job to take the cookie ball and roll it around in my little bowl of sugar and then place it on the cookie sheet. Now that Carter is old enough it is his turn to roll the ball in the sugar. He had fun doing it. And I loved seeing my son do something that I loved doing when I was his age.

Grill Master!

Last Saturday Dave entered into a Grill Master Cook Off. It was lots of fun he got to take his grill up to Broulims in Rigby and Grill a steak that you wouldn't believe. He won 3rd place and got a gift certificate. It was just fun to spend the day doing something outside. They had a jumping cage there for the kids to jump in.

3 weeks of activities

I have been so busy these last couple of weeks between activities, birthdays, and trying to keep my yard mowed, with all the rain keeping it growing so fast, that I haven't had a chance to sit down to the computer and update my blog. So here are the last few weeks in a nut shell. The kids sure are having a fun summer. Macie is growing fast. She sure is into really a lot of things. She is a little more mischievous than I remember Carter being. It seems like Carter has grown up really a lot in the last little while too. He is such a good helper and he watches out for his baby sister. They really love each other. Carter is staying busy. Dave and I think it is good for him to be involved in something at least once a week. For the next couple of weeks he is in swimming lessons and then I am going to look into starting him in tumbling. Dave is getting anxious for school to start. He is so excited. He has been working really hard to get everything all ready and he has been working really hard at his job to keep a good commission based pay check coming in for his family. He is not looking forward to how busy he will be on the 4th of July but we are looking forward to the paycheck it will hopefully produce. He sure is excited and needing our upcoming 1 WHOLE WEEK vacation. I am so excited that Dave was able to take the entire week off. It will be really nice to spend that time with him. And he is going to love being with the kids so much. I am tired but doing well. My yard sure is coming around. I love working in it. I was able to get the grass grown in the back yard and my flowers are doing really well. Tux is doing good. He needs a hair cut. Hopefully we can get him in before the 4th of july. I would like to take him to the parade but we will see. I took Macie to the doctor today for a weight check and she is 20lbs 7oz. She is still so little. The doctor is going to take a look at her growth and call me back. She only gained 1lb in 2 months. I don't know if that is enough. I hope so. Father's Day was fun. We went to my parents house for the day and had a cook out. The kids had fun seeing their cousins and playing all day. After everyone left Dave and I stayed and played Canasta until 11pm with my parents. Dave and my Dad beat us everytime. It is so frustrating. My dad doesn't even remember how to play from time to time. But it was fun none the less. The kids had fun giving their daddy his present that morning. They each gave him a golf certificate. It has become a Father's Day tradition. Today was fun. My parents were watching Collin and Sarah so my sister and I went to my parents house for the day and let the kids play. They baked cookies, swam in the hot tub, rode the 4 wheelers on the dirt trails behind the house, ate a million popsicles, and played in the play house. They had fun. I however am exhausted so goodnight.

Macie's 1st ICE CREAM CONE!!! She loved it.

Swimming Lessons

Carter is taking his 1st set of swimming lessons. He loves them. I think they are helping him to not be as nervous in the water. It is great.

Happy Birthday Tiffany!

We went to the Zoo for my sister's birthday. The kids had a lot of fun.

They were able to feed the goats. Macie kept laughing every time they would eat the food out of Kailey's hand.

Macie loved looking at the Zebra's. She thought they were very interesting. She liked laughing at them too.

Carter had fun riding the tiger. In the picture it almost looks real.

Carter and Grandpa were eating an icy when all of a sudden a big peacock jumped up on the table next to them. It sure did startle my dad.
