Trip to see the Cousins!

On the 24th we took a trip to Utah to visit the cousins. It was a lot of fun. We also had a little birthday party. They had a lot of fun opening presents and then Sherri made the best cinnamon rolls that I have ever tasted.
Macie and Madi got to have their baths together and they absolutly loved it. Bubble are Macie's favorite thing about bath time.

Before we went to Utah Carter kept asking me if we could go to the Dinosaur Park and see a T Rex.  He loves Dinosaurs.  He really knows a lot about them too.  He loved seeing all of them at the museum.
There was a Triceratops there that the kids could climb on so they did and we got a great picture.
Carter was just amazed by the size.  He couldn't stop looking at it.
Carter had to have his picture by all his favorite Dinosaurs.
The night we were going to leave I got a call from my sister saying that she was sick and I didn't need to watch her kids so we decided to stay another night.  Carter was so excited to get to stay.  Macie got a Tea Set from her cousins for her birthday and her and Madi were having a blast playing with it.
Because we were able to stay another day we decided to go swimming.  Macie and Carter love the water.  Macie hasn't really been a lot so I was a little nervous about her but she did great.  She loved it and we happier when I wasn't holding on to her.  I love this swimming pool because you can go out really far before it get deep.  It is perfect for little kids.  I really wish that there was one closer. In this picture Carter and Cole were playing with Madi and wanting to pull her all over but she was like Macie and was happy doing her own thing.
I had to add this picture because I thought it was so cute.  She was having the time of her life.
Everyone was having so much fun doing their own thing.
Carter was so sick of me taking pictures that this was the only up close picture that I could get of him.
Macie was doing so good. Floating all by herself. (with mom very close of course)
What a fun vacation.  Thanks Sherri and John for letting us come into you home for a couple of days.  Can't wait to see you again.

Trouble downloading pictures!!!

So I have been wanting to update my blog for about a week now but I haven't been able to download my pictures. I finally figured it out so here is a whole bunch of stuff that has happened since the beginning of January.
Kailey had her birthday party on the 23rd of January at Leo's.  It was a fun day.  Carter loved being around all the kids.  He loves Kailey.  He tells me all the time that she is his best friend.  That night we went to Blackfoot and had dinner with Grandma Jan and Grandpa.  The kids were able to give Jan her birthday present.  Happy Birthday Grandma Jan!

Happy 57th Birthday Mom

My mom's 57th birthday was on the 14th of January. We celebrated by going to Godfather's Pizza and then out to their house for pie. What a fun day. Then that night Dave and I got a chance to go to Salt Lake City to watch a Jazz game. It was just the two of us and another couple. That was the first time that we have been that far away from the kids over night. But it was really fun and well needed. Ever since Dave has been in school and working 3 jobs we haven't had much time for just him and I and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Trip to the hospital!

At the beginning of January Macie swallowed some plastic aqua gem balls that expand in water and well it resulted in us taking her to the emergency room. What a scary thing not knowing what they were doing inside her stomach. Luckily everything worked out fine. The ER doctor told us that all we could do was to just wait and see if she passed them. They were worried about the balls growing too large and causing an obstruction. Thank heavens she passed them the next day. Macie is definitely more into things than Carter ever was. Anyways everything worked out.

Christmas 2009!!!

Christmas Eve!
On Christmas Eve we did some last minute shopping and then we went all around Idaho Falls and looked at the pretty lights. Carter really enjoyed it this year. He kept telling us which way we needed to look. After the lights we got dinner and went home to watch The Muppet Christmas Carol. After dinner the kids got to open their one gift which is always pajamas and then we had baths and they put their new pajamas on and then we left some cookies and milk for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph. Then it was off to bed. Carter was so excited it screamed all the way to his room and jumped into bed. Dave and I stayed up a little while longer and watched the Polar Express.

Christmas Morning!!!
On Christmas morning the kids slept in!!! They are up every morning by 6:30am except when I really want them up and then they sleep in until 8:00am and then Dave and I had to wake them. But when Carter got up and realized that it was morning he was so excited to see what Santa had brought. Macie didn't really know that anything was different except she had to scream and jump up and down because her big brother was doing it.

Carter got a V Motion from Santa. He was so excited.
He had to start it up and have dad help him start to play it.

Carter and Dave both got a new hat for Christmas. My two handsome boys!

This year there were only two things that Carter really wanted and that was the V Motion and a T Rex. He was so excited when he opened this from his Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Birch and saw his T Rex. He couldn't wait to get it out of the box. Macie loves it too. She keeps growling at it.
Macie got a whole set of Doll toys from Santa. She loved it.
Her favorite part of the stocking was of course the treats.
Macie got a bunch of dolls and some play food and a shopping cart this year. She had a blast opening the gifts.

She quickly stole Carter's hat and started wearing it. Then she wanted to sit with Daddy to finish opening her gifts. She got a puppy and puppy stroller from my parents.

What a fun Christmas we all had. Dave and I got a bunch of misc. things and then he got a gift from my parents that was a Wii game. We were both so confused because I knew that my mom knew that we had an Xbox 360 not a Wii. After being confused for a minute and then realizing we hadn't opened their gift to us yet we both looked at each other and jumped up and ran to get the gift. And sure enough they had bought us a Wii for Christmas!!!!! What fun. We couldn't believe it. Dave was so excited. And well I think I screamed a little with excitement.
Every Christmas Day all the cousins get around the Christmas tree and exchange gifts. They love it. Macie got a pony this year and Carter got a Zuh Zuh pet. What a fun Christmas.

Parties before Christmas

The 2009 Christmas season started out with the Vasas annual Christmas party the Saturday before Christmas. We all were able to go to the Temple and do some family sealings and then we met at Grandma Jan's and Grandpa's house for dinner and a party.

The three amigos got to sit together and eat. They loved it.

After dinner we got the kids dressed up and they acted out the Nativity.

Then it was time to get the presents and so the kids all lined up and passed them down the line. What a fun activity. Macie was able to start the passing. She was doing so good and thought it was very fun.

After we passed the presents out into the sun room it was time for the kids to open their pajamas from Grandma Jan and Grandpa and then they line up and walk into the room to show off their new pj's.

Grandma Horkley's Christmas Party!

All the kids love getting together to give Grandma Horkley her Christmas presents. This has become an annual party where we get together and have pizza and pop. I love it. I am so glad that Grandma is still with us and that the kids get to know their Great-Grandma. Grandma really enjoys the kids too.

Macie and Sydnee latched on to my brother. They were loving the attention.

The Monday before Christmas was Carter's last school day for a couple of weeks so we had a party. They had a lot of fun. We did a craft and then watched a Christmas movie and had some Christmas cookies. Carter loves school and all his friends.

Christmas Eve Eve!
This year we had Grandma Jan and Bill over for dinner a couple of night before Christmas so that they could give the kids their gifts and spend some time with them. It was a fun evening and the kids loved what they got.

Macie got a Leap Frog Dog. What a cute thing. We programed it to say her name and her favorite food and animal. You can also set it to play some of her favorite songs.
Carter got a Lightening McQueen scooter. He loved it. Although so did his little sister. She didn't want to let him have all the fun. She kept pushing him off and saying that it was hers. Goofy girl, she couldn't even make it go but she wanted to be the one standing on it.

Macie's 1st Haircut!!!

Last Monday Macie, Carter, Dave, & I went to my friend Tiffany's Salon and got our hair cut. It was Macie's FIRST haircut. She loved it. I was a little worried that she would scream and make it hard but she just sat there. It was great.

Carter has been to the Mall at least 4 times to see Santa. This was as close as we could get Macie and she still wasn't happy about being that close.

Friday was a great day. Dave had the day off and we were able to spend the day together. We went to the library in the morning and then we went and saw Santa at the Mall. When we got home we were able to make a Gingerbread House. The kids had lots of fun with it. I think most of the candy got in their mouths. The house turned out great and they are very proud of it.

Saturday our Ward had a Christmas Breakfast Party. It was lots of fun. Carter got to spend the whole morning playing in the gym with all his nursery friends and Macie just followed. After breakfast Santa showed up with a bag of goodies for each of the kids. Carter loved it, I can't say the same for Macie.

Carter is becoming pretty good friends with Santa. Every time he sees him he tells Santa that he wants a T Rex and a Ca motion. (Translation would be a V Motion)

Carter and Macie being laundry basket buddies.

Christmas Pictures

We were able to get some Christmas pictures taken last night. My dad came over and helped us out. The kids looked really good and I was happy with how many turned out.

It was next to impossible to keep this little girl still but I was able to get some pictures.

Sometimes I ask myself why I ever get professional pictures taken when I can get such a better smile out of them.

My HANDSOME boy!
