Landon David Vasas!!!

Landon was born May 28, 2011 in the afternoon at 1:39pm.  He weighed 8lbs and was 21 & 1/2 inches long.  He came out with black hair and lots of it.  He is already being such a great baby.  He hardly makes a peep.  When he first came he was holding his breath and having a little bit of a hard time breathing and there were some variables in his heart rate.  The nurse thought it was best to take him into the nursery and keep an eye on him for a little bit until he was breathing great and his heart was sounding good.  It was really hard to let her take him so soon after he was born but Dave got to go with him and stay right by his side.  About an hour later my dad came into my room and told me that Dave said everything was great.  He was breathing great and his heart was sounding perfect.  A few minutes later the very proud daddy came into the room with Landon.  Then I was able to just hold him for a long while.  Carter and Macie were with my parents having lunch and then they came back up to see their new baby brother.  Dave and I took the kids into the room and let them see him and touch his head.  Macie turned to me and said "I just love him, Mom"  Carter couldn't stop touching his hair and looking at his cute little round face.  All through the day we had many people call and stop by to see how things were going.  It is such a miracle to have such a pure thing come into our lives, we are truly blessed.  After things settled down a little bit Dave got to go and give him his first bath.  Carter and Macie were standing outside the nursery window watching, they loved it.  Here are a few pictures with many more to come.
This is one very proud and excited daddy to have two special boys now.
The kids were so excited to finally see their baby brother.  They each wore their new shirts just for the special day.

THREE GREAT KIDS!!!

Landon was holding on to Carter's finger for a long time.  Carter loved it and couldn't stop giggling.
He has a lot of really dark hair.  He doesn't have as much as Carter did but it is the same color as Carter's was when he was born.
He has a very perfectly round head and face.  And I have to say I think he got Carter's cheeks!

Fishing, Soccer, and Landon's New Room!!!

April was a very fun and busy month.  I can't believe it is over and we are already in the second week of May.  At the beginning of April Dave and his dad planned a fishing trip that Carter got to go on with them.  Carter was so excited to spend the entire day with his daddy.  Carter has been so excited to have Dave around more often.  This summer is going to be great with Dave having a break from school.  Dave got some fun pictures of Carter while they were fishing.  They saw really a lot of wildlife on their trip too.

Fishing
Carter loves to see wildlife.  He gets so excited.
I love this picture.  He is a great little fisherman.  Dave bought Carter his own fishing box before they went.  And the night before they spent a while filling his box with all kinds of fishing stuff.
Cute Boy!!!
A very serious fisherman!
Dave said that Carter was getting really good at casting his own line out into the river.  I can't wait to go camping and fishing this summer.  I think the kids are going to love it.

 Soccer
Carter was so excited to start soccer this year.  I think that his daddy is just as excited to see him start to play sports.  Carter got to pick out his own number and of course he picked number 5 because that matched how old he was.  They are this really fun bright green color and their team name is The Flying Turtle's.
He is really learning fast how to control the ball.
I thought the hardest part would be for him to not touch the ball with his hands but he is really good about that already.
It is so fun to watch him play.  He gets so excited and when he does something that he knows is really good he looks at Dave and I with the biggest smile on his face and jumps up and down.

Landon's New Room
Ever since we moved into our house about 5 years ago we have had this spare room that we haven't really done anything with.  I am so excited now to have this room to turn into a nursery.  Dave and my dad planned a weekend that Dave had off work and they went to work on building a wall that would create a nursery and a laundry room.
The first thing that we had to do was fix some of the electrical work.  My brother-in-law Ryan is an electrician so he and my dad came over and fixed the ceiling lights and put in a outlet and light switch for Landon's room.
The next morning Dave and my dad were hard at work.  All day they spend downstairs hammering and building.  Dave loved it.  It was really fun to see the progress of the entire thing.
Carter was right there working along side Dave and my dad.  He thought it was fun to be able to help Dad and Grandpa.
The lifting of the wall!!!  I was just standing back loving every minute of this.
Dave loved being the one to build this wall.  I could tell he was very proud.
My dad and Dave had a lot of fun building, talking, and laughing.
A few days later my dad came back over to finish working on the wall.  Dave did great at cutting and hanging the sheet rock.  Carter was his little helper to break off the parts of the sheet rock that Dave had cut.

Macie sure was a good helper.  She was making Grandpa laugh really hard.  She helped with the screws and measuring things.
I don't know what Dave would have done without his little helper Carter.  I should say BIG helper!
Three guys hard at work.
Adding the finishing touches.
This is what the room looks like right now.  We still need to paint and lay the carpet.  I am getting really excited to finish the room but we have taken a little break until after Landon is born so that I can help paint and have a little more energy to decorate his room.
This is Landon's closet.  It is a great size as is the room.
For the most part all the hard work is done.  Dave and I are really excited to have this done.  Not only is it great for Landon but we have just made out 3 bedroom house into a 4 bedroom house.  Because we added an actual closet it can be listed as a bedroom if and when we ever sell the house.

March overview

March was very busy and simply went by too fast.  At the beginning of the month we had a fun time seeing all the cousins at Ellie's Baptism.  Macie was so excited to see Madi.  She misses her between visits.
Two cute girls having a blast.
Sweet faces!
My sister had her baby girl on March 9th.  It was a very exciting day.  The kids loved being at the hospital and seeing the baby right after she was born.  Her name is Brynlie Marie Hardy and she weighed 7lbs 11oz.  Carter and Macie thought it was so exciting and they now can't stop talking about when we are going to have our own little baby come into our family.
Another trip to Boise for a checkup on little Macie Moo.  She has been doing a lot better with her tummy problems but we still had to go see the specialist at least one more time.  Unfortunately Dave couldn't come with us because of school and work so the kids and I packed the car and we were off.  We had a lot of fun together.  Dave and I decided to get me a hotel room in Twin on the way back home so that I didn't have to drive all the way there and back in one day.  While in Twin Falls we stopped to look at the canyon.  The kids thought it was very cool.
This turned out to be a very cute picture.
Silly faces!

Happy 3rd Birthday Macie!
Morning smiles from the Birthday Girl!
A room full of balloons.
The Birthday Princess.
Macie really wanted her birthday party at Leo's this year.  She picked out her favorite outfit and a princess crown for the special day.
Dora is Macie's absolute favorite character right now.  She had to have everything at her party be Dora.
She really loved her cake.  She and I had a lot of fun decorating this one.  I wasn't able to make the cake part this year because there was really a lot going on but we just bought a pre-made cake and put our own decorations on it.
She was so sweet all day long.
Present time was really fun too.  She got really a lot of fun things from everyone.  She was so cute when she was opening everything she would ask me to tell her who gave her each gift so she could tell them thank you after she opened it.
Carter was so excited to give Macie the card and present that he had picked out for her.  I think the card was his favorite part for her to open because he drew a picture inside the card just for her  she loved it.  He was so proud.  Carter is a great big brother.  He loves Macie so much.
This was one of Macie's favorite things from her birthday this year.  She had been wanting this doll for a long time and would have to carry it around in the store every time we went to Walmart.  It is a very cute little doll that is sick and needs her mommy to take care of her and give her medicine.  Macie is so good at taking care of her dolls.  She is going to be a great big sister when Baby Landon arrives.
One very happy little Birthday Girl!

MANY trips to Salt Lake City!!!
Dave was scheduled to go to California after Macie's birthday so we took him down to Salt Lake City to fly out.  The kids hated it.  They missed him really bad.  Macie got on the floor in the airport and laid on his foot with her arms around his leg.  She was determined not to let him go.  After he took off we headed back home.  We were supposed to go back on Friday and pick him back up.  Carter had a harder time than Macie that night when we got home.  He was so sad that his daddy was not going to be sleeping at our house, that he couldn't go to sleep.  I was a little nervous that we were going to have a really long week.  Finally I had Carter say a little prayer especially for Daddy and for him to not feel sad and I remember that he specifically asked for his dad to come home really soon.  Well, he finally got to sleep for the night and I crashed too.  The next morning I woke up to a phone call from Dave.  He was on his way home.  His meeting in California was cancelled because there wasn't enough people who signed up for it.  They just didn't bother to call and let him know before he flew all the way there.  I think that it was cancelled because Carter needed his daddy home!  So we headed back to Salt Lake that very day and decided to stay the night in a hotel because I was exhausted from all of the back and forth driving.  We were able to make a little trip out of it too.  The next day before we headed home we took the kids to the Aquarium.  Carter, Macie and I have been to this Aquarium before but they really wanted their dad to go.  It was really a lot of fun to have Dave share time like this with the kids.
Carter loved showing Dave the Sting Rays.
Carter was getting pretty brave at touching them.  Macie still wasn't sure about it.
Cute Kids!
We were able to have a picture taken with all of us.  What a fun couple of days.
